Coffee. It’s the way so many of us start our day. Caffeine. A good kick to get the day going. I’m not against coffee. But, I like to see the day started with something a bit more substantial. So, in an effort to enjoy that lovely coffee and still get the nutrition needed to truly start the day right, I give you this homemade, nutrition-packed “frappuccino”.
Homemade Frappuccino
1 serving
1/3 cup cold coffee/espresso
1/3 cup milk (I use whole, grass-fed)
1/4 cup full-fat Greek yogurt
1/2 – 1 Tbsp cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1/2 Tbsp honey
2 handfuls fresh spinach (about 2 cups)
1 banana, in chunks and frozen
Add, in the order listed, to your blender. Blend until smooth, adding more milk to thin if desired and ice if you’d prefer it colder. Taste and add sweetener as desired. Yum! And check out the nutrition profile! Your cup of coffee can’t do that!
